The Electric Light was originally one of two sources available on the release of the game, the torches being the other.
As its default setting, it emitted dark blue light, the colour of the light could be modified under the machinima menu by changing the Red, Green, and Blue saturation. This setting was not saved, and upon leaving the world and re-entering, the custom light color would reset back to the blue lighting when placed down again. As well as this, client players were also unable to see the custom light colour unless they set their color settings to match the host.
The electric light was removed from the game when the 8 different light models were introduced in the 1.1 Alpha patch. The electric light model was used on the Deep Blue Light instead.
